Hey y’all!
My name is Alli Crabtree (she/her) and I am a born and raised DFW-based artist.
I grew up listening to all kinds of music and my first stage was my dad’s truck. I loved telling stories and creating little characters and after being cast as Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, I knew I had found my place. As I have grown up, theatre has always been a constant. From going to see various musicals and plays with my family to performing in every high school production I could have; I found my purpose at an early age and have continued to follow it.
I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a BFA in Musical Theatre in May 2024. At UTA, I have expanded my lens as an artist. I had the opportunity to play my dream role, Alice Murphy in Bright Star, and travel abroad to Germany to train alongside professional artists from all over the world at Musiktheater Bavaria. I have also had the opportunity to collaborate with professors, casting directors, and theatre companies in DFW as a production assistant, stage manager, and assistant director. I strive to be a jack of all trades regarding my theatre artistry and take every opportunity I can to learn and grow!
I consider myself to be a storyteller first. I love having the ability to take people out of their situation for a short time to share a story and teach them a lesson that they can apply to their own lives. I strive to create art that brings all people together and gives them space to think about the world beyond themselves.
While performing, I have found that teaching is an avenue that has brought me so much joy. I have had incredible arts educators in my life who have believed in me and made me the artist I am today. I am currently the Education and Outreach Assistant at Theatre Arlington and am thoroughly enjoying bringing arts education to my community!
In my free time, you can find me cheering on my Texas Rangers and trying to keep my sourdough starter alive. Traveling has become a love of mine that has fueled me as a human. I am also a very skilled crocheter, specializing in various stuffed animals and blankets for everyone I have ever interacted with.
